Steam was supplied by 4 Babcock & Wilcox WIF long drum chain grate boilers.
These were the last chain grate boilers used in Victoria and were still in service early 1981.
The two water tube boilers ran at a steam pressure of with a capacity of of steam per hour each and were each fed by two Babock & Wilcox chain grate stokers.
Later No3 was installed of 30 MW capacity and No8, a Stahl turbine with a capacity of 22 MW . Steam was supplied by 10 B + W chain grate boilers at 250 psi.
This boiler was also built by Babcock & Wilcox and was a single drum cross type water tube boiler and ran at a steam pressure of with a capacity of of steam per hour and was fed by a single chain grate stoker.
